Electronics for Water and Industrial Measurement Environments
Measurement electronics in water and industrial settings face moisture, surges and temperature swings. Design for them from day one.
NANOSOFT Engineering Insights

Moisture and condensation
Even sealed enclosures can collect condensation when temperatures cycle. Conformal coating, careful component selection and pressure-equalising vents reduce the risk.
Temperature range
Outdoor and process installations can see wide temperature variation. Components, references and calibration stability must be specified for the real range, not just room temperature.
Electrical disturbances
- Lightning-induced surges on long cables
- Ground potential differences between installations
- Interference from motors and variable-frequency drives
Enclosure and connectors
Ingress protection, cable glands, connector sealing and mounting all interact with the electronics. Board design should consider where cables enter and how shields are terminated.
